Welcome to the Business Education Complex. Located near the South Gates of LSU’s campus and in the shadow of Tiger Stadium, the 156,000-square-foot complex is where Business Tigers thrive. The Business Education Complex (BEC) is a world-class teaching and learning facility that enables state-of-the-art learning and offers space for students to create and collaborate.

Modern Space for Business Students to Innovate

The award-winning Business Education Complex is home to the next generation of leaders. Our all-encompassing complex on campus enables world-class teaching, learning, and extra-curricular experiences. Learn about our building and envision yourself as an LSU Business Tiger. 

 

Hours of Operation

The Business Education Complex’s typical hours of operation are 7:30 am - 9:00 pm, Monday – Friday. Other than days when final exams are held, the BEC is closed on weekends. Exceptions may be made for sanctioned events held in the BEC.

When classes are in session, CC’s Coffee House is open Monday-Friday. Visit LSU Dining for the current hours. 

Getting Here

The Business Education Complex is located off the South Gates of LSU’s campus at 501 South Quad Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70803. The BEC is a neighbor of Patrick F. Taylor Hall, home of the College of Engineering. Explore our location and get directions with LSU’s interactive map

Parking: Metered parking is available in the commuter lot across the street from the BEC. Alternatively, the LSU Visitor Center offers guest parking passes and will answer campus-related questions.

State of the Art Learning Spaces

The BEC classroom spaces include 40, 60, and 120-seat tiered classrooms designed for discussion and interactive learning and are equipped with the latest audio-visual technologies. The Distinguished Leaders Lecture Hall auditorium seats 300.

Space to Gather & Relax

The Rotunda Commons is the central gathering and study spot for students. It’s also where you’ll find the CC’s Café for coffee, snacks, and light fare throughout the day. Directly outside is Virginia’s Courtyard, a 20,000-square-foot green space that serves as a peaceful spot for students to study and socialize between classes.

The BEC has 12 Team Rooms perfect for small group meetings and studying. Grab some friends and find your spot for group projects, study sessions, and brainstorming.

SMART Lab

The Securities Markets Analysis Research and Trading Lab, or SMART Lab, provides a simulated trading floor where you can gain knowledge in securities analysis, research, and trading using the latest hardware and professional analytic software, like Bloomberg.

Jim & Laura Parr Professional Sales Lab

Students in the professional sales concentration use the technology in this dedicated space to hone their B2B sales skills. You will also find the LSU Sales Team preparing to bring home their next big prize.

 

Mark & Judy Weaver Ideation Lab

Designed around the needs of our student-entrepreneurs, this innovative lab is perfect for developing ideas, collaborating with peers, preparing a pitch, or prototyping with 3D printers.

Events in the BEC

The BEC is, first and foremost, a world-class teaching and learning facility. Classes and other instructional uses are the priority for the use of space in the BEC. However, the BEC is equipped to host various events as room availability allows. The BEC can accommodate a variety of events, including:

  • Speaker events
  • Conferences/workshops
  • Social receptions
  • Formal dinner/banquet
  • Award ceremonies
  • Information fairs

Reservations & Contacts

Any E. J. Ourso College of Business unit can reserve space for meetings and events at no charge. There is a room rental fee for university-affiliated and non-university entities.

LSU Student Organization room requests must be made through the Office of the University Registrar.
