Kickoff Black History Month (BHM) with your tribe for our inaugural Black LSU GameNight featuring your favorite cookout classics like Dominoes, Spades, Phase 10, Uno, Pictionary: Black Edition, Checkers, Black Card Revoked, For the Culture Trivia, Music Bingo, and many more. Attendees can play in pairs or groups but HOUSE RULES MUST APPLY! Food, Games, and Entertainment will be provided. 

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

Location: Women’s Center/Clarence L. Barney Jr. African American Cultural Center (AACC)

Participate in Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day by getting a free confidential HIV test at the Women's Center and learn about sexual health from campus and community resources in the African American Cultural Center. Free condoms and safe sex supplies will be distributed.

Sex Talk w/ LSU NAACP

Sex Talk brings students from across campus representing their organizations to talk about consent, boundaries, and healthy relationships in a panel discussion and interactive event. 

SANKOFA: Music, Art, and Open Mic Night

Time: 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Location: LSU Union Theater 

Sankofa is an open mic event where students perform their talents and display their artistry. Every year there are many talented performers, and we would love for YOU to be one of them! Performances included Singing, Dancing, Poetry, Live Bands, etc. Art Exhibit includes Photography, Paintings, Drawings, and Fashion.

Mardi Gras Mambo

Mardi Gras Mambo is similar to Fall Fest in that it is a event that brings together the LSU community on Tower Drive to celebrate a holiday deeply rooted in Louisiana Culture.

Black Movie Trivia Night

Dialogue on Race Louisiana: A History of Race in the US from Its Founding to Today

The LSU AgCenter and College of Agriculture are pleased to host Ms. Maxine Crump on Thursday, February 10th, from 10 am-12 pm. Ms. Crump will engage attendees with a presentation entitled A History of Race in the US from Its Founding to Today. We will learn more about race in the US and touch on its intersections with agriculture. This session includes a one-hour presentation followed by a one-hour dialogue/workshop. This event will be held in a hybrid format –you can join via Zoom or in-person (LSU Student Union 301- Magnolia Room).

Black Minds Matter

An in-depth panel on the importance of health and wellness in the black community with emphasis on mental health, self-care, nutrition, and community resources. This event will feature professional counselors, healthcare workers, graduate students, and undergraduate students in an engaging dialogue toward mindfulness and healing. Free food, giveaways, health and wellness resources will also be available. 

The Iota Tau Book Club

The Iota Tau Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Inc. will be hosting a book club for the LSU community. We will read 2 books, "Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man" and "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff". We will read material in our own time and meet weekly to discuss. Our goal is to educate and start important conversations through books in a laid-back and fun setting.

Fits & Fitted Friday

The Black Student Union (BSU) presents Fits & Fitted Friday, a celebration of Black peoples contributions to fashion and cultural apparel. There will be a hat and outfit battle in three different categories Black LSU members can participate in. There will also be a DJ and Prizes.  

MLK Food Drive

February 14-21

Organizations are invited to register for the MLK Food Drive. Food donations will help the LSU Food Pantry. The organization with the highest weight of food will win the Food Drive Award! ELEVATE: The Chop

The LSU Black Male Leadership Initiative (BMLI) is proud to be hosting our 4th Annual “The Chop” in conjunction with our ELEVATE series. The Chop is a safe space where men of color can discuss issues men have faced through the test of times. Additionally, ELEVATE is a Black Male Empowerment Speaker Series aiming to instill positive energy and knowledge into identifying men at LSU. This year's event will feature Cameron Jackson, CEO of Millennial Park BR, and local barbers Raven "Rae the Barber" Woods, Brandon Landry, and Benjamin Harris.
