Director of Graduate Studies — Marketing PhD Program
Picadilly, Inc. Business Partnership Professor
Have you ever wondered how a store or restaurant's music, lighting, or scent might influence what you purchase? These are some of the questions the Assistant Professor Courtney Szocs has investigated. Her research examines how sensory cues (i.e., visual, haptic, auditory, olfactory, gustatory) associated with a product or retail environment influence consumer judgment and decision-making. Szocs shares insights from her research and that of her colleagues with students in the customer analysis and behavior class she teaches. In addition to research and teaching responsibilities, Szocs is the director of PhD program within the Department of Marketing.
