Biography

Austin S. Matthews is a Ph.D graduate with a primary concentration in comparative politics and a secondary concentration in international relations. Austin's research focuses on authoritarian politics, elites, and the politics of Central and Eastern Europe. His dissertation examines the use of elite-level repression by dictators as a tool of political survival.
