Master of Education (MEd) in Curriculum & Instruction

Advance your skills and knowledge as a master teacher and prepare for leadership roles within your school or district with our Master of Education (MEd) in Curriculum and Instruction, with a specialization in science education. You will work closely with dedicated and knowledgeable faculty throughout your coursework and capstone project.

Certificate of Educational Specialist (EdS)

Continue your professional growth and specialization beyond a master’s degree with our certificate of Educational Specialist (EdS), with a specialization in science education. You will work closely with dedicated and knowledgeable faculty throughout your coursework and practicum project.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Curriculum & Instruction

Prepare to be a scholar and leader in the field of science education with our Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Curriculum and Instruction, with a specialization in science education. Whether your career goals include consulting, educational research, informal education, or entering academia, you will work closely with dedicated and knowledgeable faculty throughout your coursework and dissertation research. You will have opportunities to engage in research under faculty mentorship; present your scholarship at local, state, and national conferences; and teach undergraduate courses. 

Licensure Programs (Undergraduate and Graduate)

Are you interested in teaching elementary school?

Our undergraduate Elementary Grades Teacher Education Program is designed to develop effective interdisciplinary educators for grades 1-5. 

The Holmes Elementary Program is a one-year master’s program that complements LSU’s undergraduate elementary education program.

Are you interested in teaching middle or high school science?

With GeauxTeach STEM you can earn your bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or physics and a concentration in secondary education.

If you already have a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, physics, or a related field and are interested in earning a master’s degree and teaching certification, the Holmes Secondary Program is right for you.
