Leadership Where You Live

Residence Hall Association

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) represents the entire on-campus population. Elected student leaders collaborate with professional staff to review policies and recommend changes to make the on-campus experience better for students. RHA members plan large-scale events like the Welcome Week Block Party, Homecoming's Splatterbeat, and the Annual Resident Crawfish Boil.

Community Council

A great first step into leadership and involvement on campus is to run for community council. Each residence hall and apartment community has student-elected officers that represent each community at RHA meetings, plan social and educational programs, and work with the community’s professional staff to improve the quality of life for residents.

The Community Councils report to the RHA Executive Board.

Contact your residence coordinator to get involved with your community council.

National Residence Hall Honorary

Of the Month Awards

The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a leadership-based honorary comprised of the top one percent of student leaders involved in living on campus who value service and recognition.

The organization works to make people feel appreciated for their hard work and to better the campus and greater community through recognition, awards, and community service.

NRHH is a world-wide organization, and the LSU NRHH Red Stick Chapter is in the sub-branch SWACURH, or the South West Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls.

Members of LSU RHA and LSU NRHH have the opportunity to travel to conferences that enhance their experience in addition to their work on campus.
