Andrea Jones |
As executive director of University College at Louisiana State University, Andrea Jones is the chief administrator for this academic college which is comprised of the Center for Freshman Year, the Center for Advising and Counseling, McNair Research Scholars, Student Support Services, and Summer Scholars. She is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of all programs within the college with an emphasis in advisement, assessment, and retention. She is directly involved with development efforts to cultivate funding for the various programs of the college and for student scholarships. Andrea Jones is a licensed professional counselor and carries supervision credentials with the State of Louisiana. She has spent 23 years at LSU as either an academic counselor or administrator for academic counseling programs. Her tenure at LSU includes serving as an academic counselor in Junior Division, the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Human Sciences & Education, and assistant director in The Center for Advising & Counseling. During this time, she has also served in many leadership roles on campus and within national and statewide professional organizations. She is a member of the Louisiana Counseling Association (LCA), the Louisiana College Counseling Association (LCCA), and the National Academic Advising Association. Jones received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, a Master of Education in Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University, as well as a Certificate of Education Specialist degree from Louisiana State University. |

Brinklin Dickens joined Louisiana State University in 2017 as Administrative Coordinator III for the University College’s Center for Freshman Year. Prior to LSU, Dickens served as a Personnel Administration Specialist in the United States Army. She attended Forsyth Technical Community College, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies. | |

Troy Robertson joined University College in 1999 as an academic counselor. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Education in Community Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana State University. Along with counselor responsibilities, Robertson spearheaded the Advisors Handbook and Guide to General Education Requirements, and was instrumental in establishing systems for at-risk LSU students and overseeing the integration of new appointment systems. He was the second advisor to work with the residential college programs as they were established at LSU. In 2002, he received the Louisiana Outstanding Academic Advisor Award. In 2006, Robertson’s responsibilities extended to information technology and records, advancing University College’s infrastructure and technologies. In 2008, he was awarded the LSU Foundation Staff Outstanding Service Award. | |

LaTanya P. Stewart joined Louisiana State University in 2007 as Administrative Coordinator IV. Prior to LSU, Stewart worked as an Identification Officer for the Department of Public Safety and Corrections. She attended Alcorn State University, and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Louisiana State University. |

Carol Thomas began her LSU career as a research associate in the Biodynamics Institute and later became assistant to the director under the leadership of Boyd Professor William A. “Bill” Pryor. She brings a wealth of knowledge and insight into her current role as assistant director of finance and human resources for LSU University College. Thomas received the University College Employee of the Year Award and LSU Foundation Staff Outstanding Service Award, and is a graduate of LSU LEAD Emerge Class of 2013. She received her Bachelors of Arts from LSU. |
