MicroCred for College Credit

The foundational curriculum for these programs is for beginners, those who would like to see if the construction management career is for them. It has been organized for those with or without a college degree who would like an overview of the profession. There is no application process and upon completion of the three-course series, students will receive an LSU digital badge that can be used for online résumés and personal websites. In addition, these are college courses that can be fully transferred into LSU’s Online Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BSCM). These eight-week courses can also be used for continuing education units/credits required by some certifications and licenses.

Construction Technology Management Specialist Certificate

The curriculum contained within this program is for beginners and those interested in basic construction software. It has been designed for those that have at least some understanding of the construction process. This program is for those with or without a college degree who would like to learn about construction materials and methods and how these relate to reading a set of construction drawings. Building upon this knowledge, the learner will be exposed to the electronic side of a few construction processes using On-Screen Take Off (electronic quantity take-offs) and Building Information Modeling (virtual 3D environments).

Project Management in Residential Construction Specialist Certificate

It’s apparent that residential housing is an essential part of our daily lives. In order to continue to provide the public with sustainable housing, professionals need to be trained in the latest project management techniques in residential construction. Students who complete this program will be able to identify trends in the modern housing market, understand the project life cycle of residential construction, and apply residential construction design theory and techniques to their careers.
