Hana Beloglavec, Assistant Professor of Trombone, recently released a new album on the Summit label entitled "Bayou Home", a collection of works for trombone, piano and loop pedal featuring repertoire by diverse composers and voices, supported by an ATLAS grant.
LSU has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to receive a Challenge America award of $10,000. The grant will support the Collaborative Piano Institute at the LSU School of Music, a three-week annual summer program for up to 100 pianists, singers, composers, string instrumentalists and bassoonists.
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has named Andreas Giger, Louise and Kenneth L. Kinney Professor of Opera and Musicology in the LSU School of Music, as the recipient of a grant to research and publish a critical edition of Pietro Mascagni’s opera Cavalleria rusticana (1890) with historical context and commentary.
