Biography

Fanny A. Ramirez is an Assistant Professor of Media Law (Ph.D. Rutgers University). She holds a joint appointment with the Manship School of Mass Communication and LSU’s interdisciplinary Center for Computation and Technology (CCT). She is also the director of the Social Media Analysis and Creation (SMAC) Lab. Her research interests include social media and the law, violence against women, surveillance, and the varied ways digital media and society shape one another.
