Engineering Student Crisis Fund
The Engineering Student Crisis Fund was established in 2012 by Dr. William Brookshire to help students financially who experience an unforeseen event that severely impedes their ability to continue with their education. Examples of crisis situations include, but are not limited to: medical emergencies, unexpected travel during a family crisis, acts of nature (e.g., flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes), auto accidents, loss of residence/major property due to outside circumstances (e.g., fire, theft), and the death of a close family member, especially a parent.
Criteria for the scholarship: A student must attend full-time and be in good standing (minimum overall GPA of 2.0), be a declared College of Engineering major, and have completed at least one semester at LSU.
The typical award amount is a one-time payment of $500–$1,000; however, each case is reviewed individually.
