The LSU Science Honors Scholars, or SHS, program is a premier program in the LSU College of Science for high achieving students. Funded through the generosity of private donors, this program provides a four-year, merit-based scholarship awarded jointly by the College of Science and the Honors College to support students seeking a science degree with four years of Honors College participation. Each Science Honors scholar is a member of LSU’s Ogden Honors College and graduates with College Honors, the highest distinction offered by the Honors College. This requires participating in advanced coursework, as well as writing and defending a Senior Honors Thesis - generally based on research conducted by the student in the mentor’s research group.
