COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for Faculty and Staff

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Thank you for your continued support and diligence as LSU opened the semester in the midst of the resurgence of the Delta variant of COVID-19. We are at the end of September, and well on our way to a successful in-person fall semester. Students are back in classrooms, football is in Tiger Stadium, and social events are under way. 

In order to maintain this new normalcy, as was done with students, we must have a record of faculty and staff that have been vaccinated. Employees who choose not to be vaccinated will be allowed a testing option. Although we still strongly encourage vaccination and hope you decide to join the majority of your colleagues, this option is consistent with what was implemented for students. You can get vaccinated on campus at no charge, with no appointment required.

Please submit proof of vaccination through the Employee Verification Portal as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, Oct. 15, 2021.  

Employee testing for those who do not provide proof of vaccination will be required once per month, beginning in November. An email providing your testing date, time and location will be sent after Nov. 1, 2021. The on-campus testing performed by the La. National Guard is at no charge through Dec. 31, 2021.
