Biography

Sarah Carpenter is a second-year doctoral student in the Manship School of Mass Communication. She has a Masters of Public Administration (2018) from Louisiana State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature – Rhetoric & Professional Writing (2015) from the University of Cincinnati. Sarah was a 2015 Teach For America Corps Member, through which she taught 7th grade social studies for two years in East Baton Rouge Parish. Her research interests include media literacy, political communication, and the use of social media to shape consensus on public policy.
