Biography

Jacqueline Oquendo is a third-year doctoral student in the Manship School of Mass Communication. Jacqueline conducts interdisciplinary research on Latinx participation on networked platforms in response to and/or influenced by U.S. imperialism, American Essentialism, and the diverse transnational experiences of in-group pan-ethnic members. Her doctoral studies are supported by a 2017 Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) Fellowship. Jacqueline earned a M.S. in Library and Information Science and MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and a Bachelor's degree from Wilmington University. Additionally, she holds over a decade of industry experience as a UX designer and Digital Product Manager at several Fortune 50 companies. Jacqueline most recent industry experience includes PhD internships with Facebook, Inc. (2018) and Airbnb, Inc. (2019).
