How it Works
Students sitting on a bench with the view of a mountain

  • The program is open to all domestic undergraduate and graduate students. Students must be full-time and in good standing with the university to be eligible to participate.

  • All scholarship applicants must apply and will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Domestic students will sign contracts that clearly define their tasks and expectations for all LSU Study Abroad Scholarship program related activities.

  • Once paired, domestic and international student partners will spend time together engaging in cultural exchange. Domestic student partners will earn points based on the amount of time spent with their international student partners.

Country Passport Stamps

  • Domestic Student Partners will be required to give a short 5-7 minute presentation that provides a meaningful reflection of their experience in the program at the end of the semester. The presentations will be evaluated by a panel of LSU faculty and staff. Students will only be awarded the points they've earned after successful completion of the presentation

  • In order to receive your scholarship funds, students must meet the GPA requirements for their study abroad program at the time of disbursement.

  • Should the student withdraw from the study abroad program, then the student must return to the LSU Study Abroad Scholarship program any monies that were disbursed to the student. Exceptions to this policy will be granted for a student who documents the withdrawal due to 1) military service, 2) death in the family, or 3) health-related issues.
