COMD BA Mission Statement

The purpose of the Communication Disorders Bachelor’s program is to prepare students with foundational scientific knowledge and skills in communication sciences and disorders, including typical and atypical development and principles of assessment and intervention. Students will be active in their learning experience and provide multiple opportunities to immerse themselves in the field. Our goal is to prepare students to master the knowledge and skills specified by current best practices such as linguistic, physiological, and acoustic characteristics of speech and language, interpret speech and language data with respect to typical and atypical development.
