AACC Ambassadors

Leaders who cultivate learning and affirmation of all members in developing skills and purpose rooted in afrocentrism and self-determination while providing opportunities for others as an extension of the purpose of the Clarence L. Barney Jr. African American Cultural Center.

Mission

To support the Clarence L. Barney Jr. African American Cultural Center and serve as the student voice in center operations, programming, and leadership.  AACC Ambassadors explore and maintain an Afrocentric perspective. 

Purpose

The AACC Ambassadors will represent the Clarence L. Barney Jr. African American Cultural Center throughout campus and at varies functions. They will lead the university on programming and support for all students in traditions and values of cooperation and rich and ancient African heritage. Ambassadors will also serve to increase alumni outreach and engagement.

The AACC Ambassadors are a student organization advised by the Director of the Clarence L. Barney Jr. African American Cultural Center.  Interested students should contact the AACC Ambassadors at aacc@lsu.edu for more information. 

Requirements

  • Undergraduate students must be enrolled as full-time students at Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge); Graduate students must be enrolled as part-time (with at lease 6 hours) or full-time students at LSU;
  • Students must hae at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and be in good academic standing with the University;
  • Students must not be on disciplinary probation or deferred suspension;
  • Students must meet all other academic standards established by the student organization and included in the organization's constitution and/or bylaws.
