Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool Administrators to Present at National Conference

Photo of Angela BarnesPhoto of Charlene JenkinsBaton Rouge, LA - Angela Barnes, M.S. and Charlene Jenkins, M.S. will present at the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s Professional Institute on June 11, 2018. The annual conference provides informative and research-based professional development sessions for early childhood professionals.  Barnes and Jenkins will share the journey of how the LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool (ECELP) implemented changes to its program’s leadership, philosophy, and curriculum during the transition to a new program model and philosophy.  Participants will learn strategies for implementing change and supporting staff throughout the process. 

Angela is the current Director of LSU ECELP and has been an active leader of organizational change in various early childhood settings.  Charlene Jenkins is the Associate Director of Infant Toddler Programs at LSU ECELP and has over 20 years of experience in early childhood education and administration.  Both currently serve as board members of the East Baton Rouge Parish Early Childhood Network’s Governing Board.

The mission of the National Association of the Education of Young Children is to promote high-quality early learning for all children, birth through age 8, by connecting practice, policy, and research. The Professional Institute Conference will take place June 10th – June 13th in Austin, Texas.
