LSU Pregnancy & Parenting Program to Host First Speaker Series Event for Faculty & Staff

The lunch event on Friday, March 20, will feature one of Baton Rouge's top real estate agents, wife, mom of two and public speaker, Leigh Moss. Leigh will speak to our LSU faculty and staff about work-life balance, maintaining a healthy "you" and shared parenting experiences. To kick off our first event, lunch will be provided, HR representatives will be on location to answer any questions parents may have and Leigh will present a keynote presentation. Click here to find out more information and to register to attend the PPP Speaker Series. Seating is limited.

LSU Residential Life Faculty-in-Residence Program

The Faculty-in-Residence program at Louisiana State University encourages structured out-of-classroom interaction between students and faculty to seamlessly blend student learning and development inside and outside the classroom. The Faculty-in-Residence are engaged and motivated LSU faculty members who are invested in directly impacting students’ residential experiences through experiences that promote social and intellectual development, academic support, and advising in the residential college setting. Faculty who are interested can find additional information for the Residential Life Faculty-in-Residence here.

Call for Faculty CVs

HRM is offering to enter faculty CVs into LSUFaculty360 on behalf of faculty members. Faculty members will need to send their current CV along with their written consent to start the process.

The following steps outline the process:

  1. Faculty member emails a Word version of their CV to the LSUFaculty360 email address (lsufaculty360@lsu.edu) with a statement requesting data entry by a proxy worker.
  2. CV added to a data entry queue; faculty member informed of their number within the queue.
Please note: submission of a CV does not guarantee that activities will be entered by the time a faculty member is required to submit their annual activity report.  Faculty should still expect to report their own annual activities in the event their CV is not entered in time.
  3. Specific proxy worker is assigned to the CV and faculty member is notified of assignment; proxy begins data entry.
  4. After all CV activities have been entered, the assigned proxy will run the University CV report in the system and send a copy to the faculty member for review.
  5. Proxy will continue to make changes within the system until the faculty member is satisfied with their CV report.

HRM is very excited about this initiative and hope that by relieving faculty of this burden, they can focus their attention on more important responsibilities and benefit from the system by accessing their information instantly when they need it.

Zero Cost Textbooks (ZCT) Designation for Courses

This spring, faculty were given the opportunity to designate their courses with a special enrollment code of ZCT. This code alerts students to courses/sections with zero textbook costs. Sixty-eight courses chose to pilot this special enrollment code. Please keep this designation in mind for fall courses. Departments will have the ability to designate a section as a “zero-cost textbook” until March 6, 2020. After that time, they should contact the Registrar’s Office to include the remark and code. To read additional information about the ZCT, click here.
