Recruiting | LSU Flores MBA Program

Employer Resources

Flores MBA students are rigorously prepared to enter the workforce with tangible skills companies seek in new hires.

We welcome your participation in on-campus recruiting events and offer tips for making the process easier. For help with your visit to Baton Rouge, please see our recommendations below. For a copy of The Visitors' Guide to Baton Rouge, call Visit Baton Rouge: 225-383-1825 or 800-LAROUGE.

On-Campus Recruiting Guidelines

The LSU Flores MBA program follows the guidelines of the LSU Olinde Career Center throughout the recruiting process.

Hiring International Students

Many LSU Flores MBA students are international which can make the hiring process seem more difficult. Here at the Flores MBA program, we seek to make the process as easy as possible.

For summer internships and short-term employment after graduation (9-12 months), there is little required of the employer in the hiring process. Most of our students hold F-1 visas which means that they are eligible for internships or Optional Practical Training (OPT) programs in the United States without sponsorship and with minimal expense on your company's part. The work authorization will go through LSU International Services.

For long-term employment for a particularly strong candidate, your organization will choose to sponsor the student beyond the OPT period. This process will require more work from your HR department to help the student obtain an H-1B visa.

Company Information Sessions & On-Campus Interviewing

Employers recruit Flores MBA students through Handshake, and then visit campus to conduct interviews for full-time, part-time, internship, and co-op positions. Many companies hold information sessions in the Business Education Complex for our students to meet with recruiters in person. Recent information sessions included companies such as Exxon Mobil, Ochsner Hospital Systems, and BG Group.
