The Department of Experimental Statistics is the principal source of statistical education, research, and service at Louisiana
State University and the Louisiana State University AgCenter. The Department is unique
in its strong orientation toward the application of statistics, and faculty provide
expert statistical support for the University community. The Department offers both
thesis and non-thesis programs leading to the degree of Master of Applied Statistics
(M.Ap.Stat.).

Statistics is vital to inform decisions based on the mathematics of probability. It
is the hallmark of scientific research and is needed in multiple disciplines. Having
the Department of Experimental Statistics at LSU is a great opportunity to attract
dedicated and driven students to further enhance their analytical skills via earning
a Masters and/ or a Ph.D. degree in Statistics, to ensure the department has a top-notch
contemporary curriculum and well-trained faculties who deliver high-quality lecture
materials and establish research collaborations within campus, across the different
